Free YouTube tools

These free tools answer the questions YouTube creators run into most: what a video or a month of views might pay, how Shorts revenue compares with long-form, how engaged viewers are, and whether a title will be cut off in search.

The money calculators start from RPM, the revenue per 1,000 views shown in YouTube Studio. The defaults are cautious estimates; replace them with your own numbers and the results become much more useful. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is stored.

Further down are paid tools worth a look when the free ones are not enough.

YouTube tools FAQ

How much does YouTube pay per 1,000 views?

It depends on your RPM, which varies with niche, audience country and time of year. Many long-form channels see somewhere between $1 and $10 per 1,000 views, with finance and tech often higher and gaming or kids content lower, and Shorts usually pay far less. Put the RPM from your YouTube Studio into the YouTube money calculator for an estimate.

How do I join the YouTube Partner Program?

You need to reach YouTube’s thresholds and follow its policies. At the time of writing, ad revenue sharing starts at 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million public Shorts views in the last 90 days — check current terms in YouTube Studio.

What is a good engagement rate on YouTube?

Rates measured against views are usually lower on YouTube than on TikTok or Instagram, and long videos get lower rates than Shorts. A few percent is common, but niche and format change the number a lot. Compare your videos with each other using the YouTube engagement rate calculator.

How much should I charge for a YouTube sponsorship?

Most sponsorship prices start from your average views per video times a CPM, adjusted for the type of integration. The sponsorship rate calculator does that maths and suggests a floor to accept. Your own past deals and the fit with your audience matter more than any generic rate.

How long should a YouTube title be?

Titles can be up to 100 characters but are often cut around 60–70 characters in search and suggested videos. Keep the key words in the first 60 and check the length with the YouTube character counter.

Are Shorts worth it if they pay less?

Shorts usually earn a small fraction of long-form RPM, so judge them on the viewers and subscribers they bring rather than on Shorts revenue alone. The Shorts money calculator shows how many long-form views would earn the same.
